I've been holding onto this recipe for months and I'm so excited to finally share it with you!

How to make the most INSANE Almond Flour Chocolate Chip Banana Bread! [gluten-free]

If you've made any of my other almond flour bread recipes, then you're going to recognize the ratio of ingredients. We start with pretty much the same base for all of them, and then switch up the liquid ingredients and spices to give it a whole new flavor. They don't even resemble the same recipe, and yet they're nearly identical.

Here's why I like doing this:

  • You've already purchased the ingredients, so you're able to use them up in new, unique ways
  • You won't get bored by making the same recipe over and over again
  • You'll become an expert and can then create your own flavor combos from there

This is the most INSANELY DELICIOUS Chocolate Chip Banana Bread and it's made with 100% healthy ingredients -- almond flour, quinoa flour, flax and more!

This almond flour chocolate chip banana bread uses up my favorite baking staples: almond flour, quinoa flour, arrowroot starch and coconut flour.

I have done a lot of experimenting and have found this combination of flours yields amazingly fluffy and tender baked goods. We've made vegan blueberry pancakes and healthy pumpkin bread, just to name a few.

It's versatile, has a wonderful flavor profile, and it's incredibly nutritious!

I talk a lot about the protein content of quinoa on the blog, and that is one of my favorite reasons to add it into my baking mixes. But quinoa flour mixed with almond flour takes it to another level. Not only are we getting a really high-protein slice of bread, but we're also getting healthy fats, fiber and minerals.

So basically we've got…healthy + banana + chocolate. That's pretty much perfection in my book!

This healthy ALMOND FLOUR Chocolate Chip Banana Bread is not only easy but also HEALTHY, delicious and so simple to make! [gluten-free]

I personally adore starting my day with a warm slice of this healthy banana bread, spreading it with some peanut butter (or homemade honey roasted peanut butter would be even better), and enjoying it alongside a cup of my frothy Pumpkin Spice Matcha Latte.

Nutritious, delicious, protein-packed and just the right amount of fuel to get me through a busy morning. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

xx Alyssa

  1. Just made these as muffins. It took around 30 mins. So yummy! The whole family loved them. I made it exact as recipe without any substitutions. Thank you for healthy yummy recipe 🙂

    1. You could use another acid like Lemon or just regular white vinegar 🙂 It helps with the rise, so you need it!

  2. Really good! I made these into muffins (baked for 23 mins) and they came out great! I have to laugh – when I make banana muffins for the kids, the entire batch will vanish in under 2 hours. With this recipe, they ate them slowly and had seconds. This muffin fills you up like no other muffin! It’s tasty and filling and I’m looking forward to making them again (and having leftovers to freeze this time for snacks later)! Thanks Alyssa. ????

  3. Sounds delicious! Will make it on Sunday ????thanks for sharing something for those of us that r tired of the same old snacks.

  4. Hi,
Made this today with lots of chocolate including white ones.
As I had no quinoa flour available I added a bit more almond, flax and coconut (relatively). I also added 1/2 tsp of xanthan gum and used coconut oil instead of olive oil.
The smell in the house was great while baking and the taste was delicious while eating..
    Thank you !.

    1. I don’t think so, sorry! I don’t recommend replacing more than 2 eggs in a recipe and the eggs here really help with the structure. I think you could fuss around with some of the other ingredients that could make it vegan 🙂

  5. Hi-any chance I can substitute the “almond flour” I cannot use or eat almonds much to my dismay! I am also gluten free so loving all the recipes!!

    1. Seeing that it’s the main ingredient in this loaf, I’m not sure! If you could find cashew flour or hazelnut flour, that might work, but anything else would require a reformulation of other ingredients. Sorry about that!

  6. Looks marvellous. Going to make. Can I use this recipe to make muffins? Also how does thecocanut and white sugar differ re sugar and fat in coconut. Thx Iris

    1. I think so, yes! Baking time will need to be adjusted, but I bet they’ll be delicious. Calories are equal for the two sugars, the coconut is just a little less sweet and less refined 🙂
